19 Weeks

Baby is now the size of a: Mango

Total Weight Gain: About 5 pounds, I think. I haven't checked this week.

Maternity Clothes: Still in regular clothes, but they are beginning to fit quite differently, especially my bras!

Sleep: My sleep has improved somewhat over the past few weeks, so I'm happy.

Gender: It's a GIRL!

Movement: I'm still not feeling any movement yet, but I found out during our anatomy scan that I have an anterior placenta, which means it'll be a little longer until I'm feeling those wonderful first kicks!

Food Cravings: Still fruit and carbs. I can honestly say I haven't had any really, really strong cravings just yet..

What I Miss: Nada.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Feeling movement.

Milestones: I am finally starting to show! It is very subtle, but I have a tiny baby bump. Looks a bit like a potbelly :)

Symptoms: Fatigue, sensitivity to smells, increased urination, increased appetite.

Bump@18w1d

The Big Reveal!

We're having...

a

GIRL!!!

We are so, so thrilled! She is absolutely perfect and we're already so in love with her. The anatomy scan went well and she is perfectly formed. She's a little on the small side (in the 30th percentile) so they're having me come back in 4 weeks for a growth check. They said not to worry so I'm trying my best.

I can't believe we're going to have a daughter. I can't believe this is my life. I'm so very, very happy.

18 Weeks

Baby is now the size of a: Yam

Total Weight Gain: Up 5 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Still no.

Sleep: The strange dreams continue!

Gender: We find out tomorrow and we're so excited!

Movement: A couple of times over the last few days, I thought I felt some flutters, but it may just be my imagination.

Food Cravings: I'm still craving soda and fruit, as well as other starchy things.

What I Miss: I'm not missing anything this week. I'm just happy to be pregnant :)

What I'm Looking Forward To: Tomorrow's anatomy scan!

Milestones: We've started discussing plans for the baby shower.

Symptoms: Fatigue, increased, increased urination, increased breast size, a teeny tiny bump, super sniffer.

Anatomy Scan Tomorrow!

I can't believe it's almost here! I'm so nervous and excited. Tomorrow we'll find out how our baby has been growing and progressing. I am hoping and praying for only good news!

If all goes as planned, we will also find out if our baby is a boy or a girl! I think Mr. E is even more excited to find out than I am, and I'm really excited! For the past couple of weeks I've been thinking about how I'd like to decorate our little one's nursery,
and I made two inspiration boards, one girly, and one, uh, boy-y.

Here is a sneak peek of how I'd like to decorate the room if its a boy:

As you can see, I'm thinking of doing a nautical theme. So cute!
I know we don't live on the ocean, but we are just a couple of blocks from the lake,
and there are lots of sailboats, so I think it works :)

If the baby turns out to be a girl, here is what I'd like to see in the room:

I think it's obvious I have a soft spot for the Shabby Chic look :) I just think it's so soft and pretty. I'd decorate my whole house like this, but I think poor Mr. E would go nuts!

Stay tuned for an update tomorrow! Hopefully we'll know if we'll be joining Team Blue or Team Pink!

Nesting already?

I think the nesting bug has hit early here in the house of E&E. Yesterday I spent several hours cleaning and organizing. I even went through boxes in the attic and basement that I haven't touched since we moved into this house 6+ months ago. By the time I finished I was exhausted. It's as though suddenly I feel that nothing can possibly be clean enough or organized enough for my liking. I'm in big trouble if this keeps up. I've always been a very clean an organized person, but I can see myself taking this to the extreme.

I also see lots of new projects on Mr. E's "honey-do" list for this spring.

Thinking about a nursery

I'm starting to get super excited thinking about planning our baby's nursery! We don't intend to register until after our anatomy scan, when we'll hopefully lean the gender, but I've started to gather ideas for what I'd like to see in our little one's room. Here is what the room looks like right now, in its current state as our guest bedroom:

It's a cute little room - cute being the operative word. It measures 13'6" x 10'6" and that includes the space being taken up by the closet. Still, I think it'll make a great nursery. It's sunny and cheerful, and it's just steps away from our bedroom.

No matter if the baby turns out to be a boy or a girl, I feel convinced that white furniture is the way to go. We live in a petite cape cod style house with white painted trim, and I think that white furniture just fits here. Mr. E disagrees with me. He'd like to see dark, espresso colored baby furniture. I just think that's too dark for the room! Hopefully I'll be able to change his mind :)

If I had my choice, I'd purchase a full set of new furniture from Pottery Barn Kids. They have such cute stuff. I especially love the Catalina crib and extra-wide dresser:

Swoon.

But in the House of E&E, money is tight, and we will not be buying these pieces. That's actually OK with me, because it gives me an opportunity to get creative. I'm a master at re-doing rooms on a budget! I already have some excellent ideas that I will post in the coming days.

16 Weeks

Baby is now the size of an: Avocado

Total Weight Gain: A whopping 2 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Still no need for these...

Sleep: Fitful. The strange dreams are really starting to get to me!

Gender: TBA

Movement: So far nothing, but I'm hopeful I'll be feeling something in the next 2-3 weeks!

Food Cravings: Cherry Coke

What I Miss: Not having to worry about the relative fragility of my body. Right now, Eric is shoveling the driveway after the MASSIVE snow storm we got last night. Although I don't love shoveling, it would be nice to be able to help him. But I'm not allowed.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Anatomy scan!

Milestones: Can't think of any right now.

Symptoms: HEADACHES, fatigue, sensitivity to smells, increased urination, increased appetite.
